Domestic violence is the single largest cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 and 44 in the United States, more that muggings, car accidents and rapes combined. Each year between 2 million and 4 million women are battered, and 2,000 of these battered women will die of their injuries (Annals of Emergency Medicine, 2000). There is no typical victim. Domestic violence occurs among all ages, races, and socioeconomic classes. If you or someone you know is being abused, it is imperative that you seek assistance. In order to stop domestic violence, SafeHaven of Tarrant County provides a wide variety of services to victims.
24-Hour Hotline SafeHaven's 24-Hour Hotline is staffed with trained advocates to assist individuals affected by domestic violence. Our trained staff provides crisis intervention, safety planning, information and referrals, access to our emergency shelter, and access to SafeHaven's community based services. The hotline is available 24-hours a day 7 days a week in both English and Spanish.
If you are in immediate danger, call 911. All calls are confidential! Emergency Shelter SafeHaven’s shelter facilities are able to comfortably accommodate up to 174 women and children on any given day. The shelters operate under the rule of “the shelter is never full”.
