SafeHaven provides the women and children residing in our shelters with all their needs during their stay, including clothes, toiletries, and baby care items. Please consider donating any of these items, as well as those listed on our Immediate Needs List, which represent our most needed items this month.
School Supply Drives
Your business, church or school group can host a school supply drive to collect backpacks, school supplies, and shoes for kids staying in SafeHaven’s shelters. Every year SafeHaven opens three “Santa’s Sack” storefront sites for ten days in December to collect donations of new toys, clothing and gifts. We then use the donated items to create the “SafeHaven Mall,” allowing our moms and children to “shop” for special gifts they can wrap and exchange with each other. To make this magic happen, we need lots of help! Adopt a Family
Shop for and provide holiday gifts for one of our transitional living families who are working to become financially stable and independent. Many clients have to start their lives all over when they leave the shelter. That means having to buy all of the basic necessities of life, which can be very costly. Ana’s Baskets, filled with cleaning supplies, are provided to clients so they can wash their clothes and clean their home. When they exit the shelter and move into their new residence, they receive a basket. You can help us by providing victims with their own basket of cleaning supplies and laundry detergent.
Manufacturers, retailers and other businesses are encouraged to donate in-kind goods and surplus inventory items, such as food, beverages, clothing, personal hygiene items, over-the-counter medication, furniture, new mattresses, household items, linens, cleaning supplies, and office equipment and supplies. We are always looking for individuals and businesses willing to donate their time and talents to help with special events, day-to-day operations, and fundraising. Among the professional services SafeHaven needs are landscaping, catering, equipment rentals, audio-visual, videography, photography, graphic design, printing and special events. Gently-Used Household and Clothing Items
Our Berry Good Buys Resale Shop serves a vital role for our clients who often give up everything to flee for safety. Donations of new and gently-used clothing and household items stock the closets at our emergency shelters to meet clients’ needs when they enter. In addition, our clients are provided with vouchers which allow them to shop at Berry Good Buys as they start new lives. To schedule a furniture pick-up, please call 817-921-5898.
