Taking Steps to End Domestic Violence #walkamilefortworth

On June 18, 2016, over 150 walkers braved the heat and came out to join in the fun and movement of SafeHaven’s Walk A Mile in Her Shoes.  This one-mile all male walk in heels raised almost $10,000 to help fund SafeHaven programs as well as raise awareness about domestic violence in our community.

If walking in heels wasn’t enough of a challenge, men came dressed up as clowns, zombies, superheroes and in tutus to make sure that they stood out!  Men gathered to try on shoes, laugh with friends, and all agreed, it is time to make a statement; time of end domestic violence in Tarrant County.

The morning was also filled with fun contests, a photo booth, balloon sculptures, and refreshing treats from The Woodshed Smokehouse.
