SafeHaven’s Arlington shelter was filled with lots of laughter and projects as 50 volunteers from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services came to make much-needed updates and give back as part of their Week of Caring and CommUNITY Starts Here initiative.
For the fifth year in a row, employees from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services volunteered in a Week of Caring throughout the United States and Canada. With over 1,400 volunteers coming. At our shelter, volunteers painted bedrooms, sorted clothing, organized immediate shelter needs, and spent several hours landscaping and giving the shelter a much-needed face-lift.
After a full days work, one of our moms commented, “It means a lot to have these volunteers come in and give back. They were friendly, accommodating, and their handwork is really appreciated. We now have a quiet library, fresh looking new rooms, and a place that feels like home.”
We would like to thank Mercedes-Benz Financial Services as well as all of our volunteers who saw the value in giving back and brought hope to our shelter one paint brush at a time. The partnership that we share supports our mission and we are honored to call them friends!
