Looking Back at the Legacy of Women Luncheon

Looking Back at the Legacy of Women Luncheon

October 12th at the Historic Hilton in Downtown Fort Worth was filled with a sea of purple as guests came to honor their peers, listen to Terry Bradshaw as he shared his wisdom (and lots of laughs!), and ultimately financially support SafeHaven programs.

Congratulations to the 10 women selected as the 2016 Legacy of Women Award Recipients (pictured below).  We are excited to celebrate you and the difference you make to all of us in Tarrant County. For your service, passion, and altruism, we thank you!

We are excited to announce that after counting every penny and double checking our figures, the event has raised over $200,000 to support SafeHaven programs!  We could not have expected a better outcome, and we are truly grateful for everyone’s contribution.  The donations received are substantial in helping families right here.

Your donation makes a difference.  With the support from Legacy of Women, SafeHaven will be able to provide hot nutritious meals and shelter to families in need of emergency shelter, teach young children about respecting boundaries and each other in our local schools, and we can provide services to families including free legal counsel, therapy, and job training.  We are overwhelmed with gratitude.

Of course, we would also like to thank the Legacy of Women Committee (the volunteers that helped make the event a reality), all of our gracious sponsors, and donors!

As we wrap up the rest of the details for this event, we are already looking to the future want to make sure that you are too.  Please save the date for the 25th Annual Legacy of Women Luncheon which will be October 6, 2017 at the Historic Hilton.  We promise it will be bigger and even better than this year!
