Service King Gives Back

Service King provides 3 SafeHaven families with vehicles at the Great American Car Giveaway

When escaping abuse with limited resources available and barriers along the way, it can feel debilitating. Partnerships with companies like Service King provides hope for our clients to move figurative mountains one vehicle at a time.

On September 16, 2016, crowds filled in to Victory Plaza in downtown Dallas to be a part of the nation’s largest car
giveaway. Service King, celebrating 40 years of service, donated 40 vehicles to families in need throughout the country, with the biggest celebration in our community.Chosen as one of the five organizations in the DFW Metroplex to participate,we were excited to be a part of the celebration as three deserving families from our SafeHaven transitional living program were given the freedom of mobility with a new car.

When asked for a statement, Krista Moffett, SafeHaven Director of Community Engagement, said that it was hard to
put the kindness of Service King into a few words. She said their partnership is more complex than just giving a car to a deserving family. The employees at Service King treat SafeHaven clients with dignity and respect, always smile at the opportunity to give back, and genuinely care about the work that they provide.
“The gift of reliable, safe transportation has the power to change the entire trajectory of life,” said Jeff McFadden,
Service King president. “Our hope is that this historic event will be truly life-changing for families in need across the country.”
We are overwhelmed with the generosity that Service King provides to our clients. As one of our valued community partners, they continue to set the bar for what service means. Thank you, Service King, for changing the lives of the clients we serve and being our partner as we work to end domestic violence in our community.
