Thanksgiving

Thank You for Making Thanksgiving Special

shelter-artworkIt’s hard to think of Thanksgiving and not automatically think of the family traditions that make the holiday so special. From Grandmother’s perfect turkey stuffing, to giggling as you watch the parade with cousins, Thanksgiving is a holiday that focuses on special memories of family, friends, and the comforts of home.

For families that are working to create new traditions and defining a new normal, Thanksgiving can be hard.  With the pressure of making everything perfect, a time of thanksgiving can quickly turn to a time of stress and disappointment.  At SafeHaven, we believe in creating new happy memories of home, but are only able to do that with the support of our caring volunteers and donors like you.

We are grateful for all of our volunteers who have invited our clients into their traditions and share joy during the season by serving a meal at our shelters or donating Thanksgiving baskets to our housing clients. You help create memories that will start new traditions, and make the holiday special.

“I want to make each holiday the best for my children, but it’s hard to do that on a budget, and the end of the year is hard. Thank you for helping us celebrate and have a ‘normal’ holiday. We wouldn’t be able to have Thanksgiving at all if it wasn’t for the nice people who made these baskets for us.  Thank you.”  – Diana M., SafeHaven Housing client

From our family to yours, we would like to wish you a heartfelt HAPPY THANKSGIVING! We are grateful for you and the difference that you make by sharing in our mission.
