Volunteer Spotlight: Alpha Chi Omega

Volunteer Spotlight: The University of Texas Arlington, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority

This month we are excited to highlight a group of women who continue to support SafeHaven and the families we serve by giving back every opportunity they can.  The ladies of Alpha Chi Omega at University of Texas Arlington have been a fixture of SafeHaven and it’s hard to imagine our little community without them.  With juggling college courses, jobs, and life, these ladies continue to impress us with their commitment to helping families fleeing from domestic violence.

From Easter egg hunts and Halloween carnivals to weekly tutoring with students, the Epsilon Lambda chapter of AXO provide countless hours of support to our children’s program at the Arlington emergency shelter.  In addition to their time, this group also helps by spreading awareness of domestic violence issues on campus and has made domestic violence awareness their community focus.  They host themed weeks during the month of October for Domestic Violence Awareness Month and host two fundraisers every year with proceeds benefiting SafeHaven of Tarrant County.

On March 25, 2017, our friends will be hosting the Paint the Campus Purple 5k Purple Color Run at University of Texas Arlington, and we would like to encourage you to sign up!
