Volunteer Spotlight- Berry Good Buys

When you walk into the back room at Berry Good Buys on Mondays, the giggles and chatting from the ladies volunteering instantly put you in a fantastic mood.

Since 1993, Mae has spent most of her Monday’s sorting, pricing, and hanging clothes that have been donated to Berry Good Buys.  volunteer spotlightWhen I met with her, she told me that she had been volunteering ever since she retired, and that it is so much fun, it’s easy to lose track of time.  With all of the skills that Mae has at the shop, she also loves to cook and spoils the other volunteers and staff with her homemade toffee each Christmas.

Nancy has been volunteering for over 10 years as well.  Nancy has taken the task of sorting and pricing housewares, answering the phone, helping customers, and helping donors unload and handing out tax receipts to a whole new level! She is a true horned frog. She ALWAYS has on at least one item of purple clothing, if not purple head to toe, to represent her TCU horned frogs. She asks everyone how their weekend was, and even asks about the family, by name, and she is always on the look out for cute or flashy things to put in the display case.

Overall, Lorna, Nancy and Mae are super special to a place like Berry Good Buys.  They are hard workers, very dependable, and bring joy to the staff and volunteers that work there.  We cannot thank you enough for your hard work and for always giving 110{18491fa3714fea8d08d95590ffb001d1ade5097a5805c7edbc7ff5963444cfd9}.  Thank you, thank you!
