Volunteer Spotlight- Bonnie Watkins

If you have been by the Arlington Shelter on Wednesdays, you have probably met this month’s Volunteer Spotlight, Bonnie Watkins!

Since 2013, every Wednesday afternoon, Bonnie engages with staff and clients at the Arlington shelter in the Client Services Center. As kids come running through the doors from school to show off their grades and get started on homework until dinner is served, she uses her time to make sure that everyone is taken care of.  She also coordinates the donation and participation at the shelter (even in the rain!!) with her Kiwani’s Club.

At our Annual Meeting and Volunteer Reception in the spring, Bonnie was nominated and awarded the Don Wilks Spirit Award and we couldn’t imagine a better fit for this award.

Bonnie is one of the family at the Arlington Shelter, bringing smiles and encouragement to our clients and staff. She fills in the gaps and goes above and beyond serving our clients. Thank you Bonnie for your unfailing service to end domestic violence!
